Associate Consultants (Multiple Position)

ABOUT GCA
Growth Capital Analytics (GCA) is an Ethiopian consulting firm delivering Strategic Advisory, Investment Planning, and Credit Analytics services to businesses, government entities, and development partners. The firm operates with the analytical rigor and strategic depth of the world's leading consulting practices, and is building a team to match that standard.

POSITION OVERVIEW
GCA is seeking exceptional Associate Consultants to join its engagement teams on a permanent basis. The Associate Consultant will operate at the core of GCA's project delivery model, contributing to the full lifecycle of consulting engagements across a broad spectrum of sectors, including financial services, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, education, technology, and public sector reform.
The role demands structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving, rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the ability to translate complex data into clear strategic recommendations for senior client stakeholders. It is modeled on the Associate function at leading global management consulting firms, adapted to GCA's Ethiopian and East African operating context.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Consultant will structure complex client challenges into issue trees and testable hypotheses, designing analytical work plans that drive engagements toward fact-based conclusions efficiently. This role requires conducting primary and secondary research, building the evidence base through stakeholder interviews, market studies, financial data analysis, and sector-level benchmarking.
A core component of the position involves quantitative analysis, including financial modeling, market sizing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing, as well as qualitative analysis such as organizational diagnostics, capability assessments, and value chain mapping. The Associate Consultant will synthesize findings into compelling, insight-driven narratives and build executive-quality deliverables, including strategy presentations, investment memoranda, business plans, due diligence reports, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
The role involves direct client interaction through workshops, steering committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations. The Associate Consultant will be expected to communicate with confidence and build trusted relationships with client counterparts across levels of seniority.
Given the breadth of GCA's client base, which spans the private sector, government ministries, multilateral and bilateral development partners, and non-governmental organizations, the Associate Consultant must demonstrate the versatility to transition fluidly between sectors and engagement types.
Beyond client delivery, the Associate Consultant will contribute to GCA's institutional development through knowledge building, proposal support, recruitment, and training activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA, MA, MSc) from a reputable institution is strongly preferred.
Experience. A minimum of Four (4) years of professional experience, with demonstrable tenure in a management consulting firm, strategy consulting firm, financial advisory firm, or comparable professional services environment (e.g., investment banking, development consulting). Experience delivering multi-sector engagements is essential. Candidates whose experience lies exclusively outside consulting or professional advisory services will not be considered unless they can demonstrate equivalent project-based, analytically intensive work.
Technical Proficiency. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, complex formulas, data analysis) and Microsoft PowerPoint (executive-level presentations with clear storylining) is mandatory. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and statistical software is an advantage. A strong command of financial analysis, valuation methods, and business case development is expected.
Core Competencies. Structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving ability. Exceptional analytical rigor and attention to detail. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English (Amharic proficiency is a strong plus). The ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines. Intellectual curiosity and the capacity to rapidly develop expertise in unfamiliar domains. A client-first orientation with professional poise and a collaborative, team-driven mindset.
